YouTube affiliate marketing – how to make money with your channel
If you are a drummer, drum instructor or music recording resource and have a solid following on YouTube, then this is for you. You already have the fans, the channel traffic and the credibility, so all you need to do is monetize it. Affiliate marketing is how many YouTubers and bloggers make their money online, and you can too. You might want to check out the general info on how our affiliate program works and how you can earn money from it.
Here are the specifics for how you can monetize your YouTube channel:
Step 1. Sign up with clickbank and join our affiliate program. Click here to learn how. The hoplink for the Learn How To Record website is http://AFFILIATE.mikenoises.hop.clickbank.net. Just replace AFFILIATE with your Clickbank username. If you would like a personalized “pretty” hoplink URL like www.learnhowtorecord.com/yourname, contact us with your Clickbank username and preferred URL name, and we will make it happen for you.
Step 2. Make a short video review of The Hackers Guide to Drum Recording ebook and add it at the end of one or more of your regular videos. Just be natural, a lot of the “sales pitch” is already on the order page, so you don’t need to “sell” it. Just tell your viewers you want to recommend a product because you’ve used it, and you think people would benefit from it. That said, if you haven’t read the ebook, it’s in your best interest to be familiar with it so you can help introduce it.
Step 3. Insert the hoplink into the description of your video. If you have a “pretty link” eg. www.learnhowtorecord.com/yourname, make sure to mention it before and after your review. You can also insert the hoplink into the descriptions of videos you have posted in the past with a little written review attached.
Step 4. Each time someone you refer purchases our product, you earn a commission and get paid! So it’s in your interest to refer sure as many people as possible.
Tips:
- The more relevant people view your video, the more of them will check out the product you recommend, and the higher the chances that they will buy it. So attach the review at the end of videos that you anticipate will get the most views, or you can even attach it at the end of all of your videos.
- Make sure you title your video in such a way that people can easily find it in a YouTube search. This will bring more traffic in. Think of things in your video that are relevant to what people are often searching for. For example, “Drum fills tutorial” is better than “Stuff I do with sticks” or “Cover tune #8″. If you do covers or session work, make sure to include the name of the band and song you are performing as that will ensure your videos will show up in related searches.
- Make sure to attach all the relevant keywords in the tags section of your video. This will also increase search relevance and traffic, and bring the right people to your video. Examples: fast drum tricks, paradiddle drum tutorial, how to play jazz drums, metal drum cover, “song name”, “artist name”.
- For added traffic, you can embed your video in your blog or website, share it on facebook, twitter and other social networks, email it to your friend or subscribers, etc.
- Write us a testimonial, or send us a short review (written or video form), and we will put it up on the Learn How To Record website. This improves our credibility, which increases our sales, and brings higher earnings to affiliates like you!
